Not only are members of the Iowa Crush organization busy on the football field, but they are also very active in Des Moines metro area. Check out the sections below to see the types of activities the team participates in!
Grab a hard hat, it's time to get to work! Hammering and sawing are just a few of the many tasks that the team takes part in during Habitat for Hummanity home builds.
The group above stopped for a quick picture before participating in this year's Summerfest parade in Ankeny. The team also has had floats in a few local 4th of July parades, the Des Moines St. Patrick's Day parade, and has even been featured on television as part of the Iowa State Fair Parade.
Members of the Iowa Crush also take a little time out of their work day to visit various elementary schools throughout the Des Moines metro area. The players have talked to elementary students on topics such as bullying, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy eating habits.
Are you a trivia buff? Grab some friends and join the Crush in one of our many trivia events where you can test your knowledge on topics like: animal science, famous athletes, geography, and one of the crowd favorites - name that tune!
For a few years now, the Crush have made a point to visit children that are at the Youth Emergency Services & Shelter (YESS). Ice cream socials with the team are a big hit and so is game time in the gym. The players shown above took a break from playing volleyball to pose for a picture.
Another way the team gives back to the community is by holding food drives. All items and donations received during these events have been presented to deserving organizations like the Food Bank of Iowa and the Salvation Army.
