The Independent Women's Football League, (IWFL), is a full tackle women's football league founded in 2000 by a group of women dedicated to making the sport a household name. The IWFL consists of 41 teams and 1600 players, who travel across North America. The Iowa Crush joined the IWFL in 2004, and has been able to bring women's tackle football to central Iowa for the past five years.

Our season starts in January with games from April through June. The 2008 season included away games in Kansas City, Detroit and Dallas. Home games were at Valley Stadium in West Des Moines. The 2009 schedule has not been set, but could include teams from Chicago, Detroit, Kansas City, Wisconsin and more.

It's the real deal! eleven vs. eleven with a combination of college and NFL rules. The 2008 team had players ranging in age from 19 to 46 and of various experience levels from rookies, who had never played football before, to 5 year veterans.

Want to be a part of the action? The Crush is looking for players and volunteers for the 2009 season. Summer workouts have already begun! Come check it out and join us for some conditioning and football fundamentals. Official try-outs will be held at Valley Stadium on Saturday, August 16th from 9am - 11am.
